Lily Vine Summer
Voysey himself owned a carpet in the Lily & Vine design, placed in the dining room of his home, The Orchard, in 1899.
Lily & Vine is available the three colourways, Summer, Harvest and Fall. Custom sizes and colours available, including runners.
The Lily & Vine design, with its simple but effective border of curling acantus leaves, was shown at an exhibition of the Arts & Crafts Society in 1896, the first year of Voysey's collaboration with Alexander Morton, founder of Donegal Carpets. The arrangement of stylized flowers and plant forms in the carpet's field shows Vovsey's skill at creating an overall flat pattern that still has rhythm and movement.
The GuildCraft Collection features seven Arts & Crafts designs originally created by English architect C.F.A. Voysey circa 1900. The designs are rendered in authentic period colours, which coordinate beautifully with original and reproduction fabrics, upholstery, and wallcoverings. Hand-knotted in India of pure New Zealand wool, the GuildCraft carpets possess a uniform colour and surface texture. The look is authentic to the period, and people rave about the soft hand and plush quality of these fine carpets.
In 5x7, 6x9, 8x10, 9x12, and 10x14 sizes, and RUGMARK-certified free of child labour. Custom sizes and colours available. Click on the photo to view a larger image.
