More open and linear than other designs in the GuildCraft Collection, Magnolia has a wonderful feeling of lightness and delicacy. It is perphaps one of the most stylized of Voysey's carpet designs, and yet the original design source, the leaves and blossoms of the magnolia tree are clearly recognizable. Again, Voysey creates a skillful interplay of scale between the border and the field. Our artists' use colour placement to further define the design was inspired by the repeating patterns in antique Eastern carpets.

The GuildCraft Collection features seven Arts & Crafts designs originally created by English architect C.F.A. Voysey circa 1900. The designs are rendered in authentic period colours, which coordinate beautifully with original and reproduction fabrics, upholstery, and wallcoverings. Hand-knotted in India of pure New Zealand wool, the GuildCraft carpets possess a uniform colour and surface texture. The look is authentic to the period, and people rave about the soft hand and plush quality of these fine carpets.
