Another masterful design, the Vineyard carpet is a fairly dense, complex composition. Any sense of heaviness, however, is banished by the complex rhythms that Voysey establishes, again further enhanced by our artists' placement of colour in the field. There is vertical, horizontal and diagonal repetition in the field which creates a sense of movement and life. As with all of Voysey's work, this carpet shows his great understanding of the natural world.

The GuildCraft Collection features seven Arts & Crafts designs originally created by English architect C.F.A. Voysey circa 1900. The designs are rendered in authentic period colours, which coordinate beautifully with original and reproduction fabrics, upholstery, and wallcoverings. Hand-knotted in India of pure New Zealand wool, the GuildCraft carpets possess a uniform colour and surface texture. The look is authentic to the period, and people rave about the soft hand and plush quality of these fine carpets.
